What’s Global Game Jam?
The Global Game Jam (GGJ) is where the magic happens – a worldwide celebration of gaming, creativity, and collaboration. It’s your chance to go all-in, explore wild ideas, and create a game in just 48 hours based on a secret theme revealed at the start.
No rules. No limits. Just pure, unfiltered game-making vibes. Whether you’re a pro or a first-timer, this is your playground to create something legendary
Day 1: Thursday, January 23, 2025
3:00 PM – 4:00 PM: Opening Ceremony & Theme Drop
○ Roll in, meet your fellow creators, grab some swag, and get hyped
4:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Check-In & Welcome
○ Join the global GGJ live stream to uncover the top-secret theme. Prepare to have your minds blown.
○ Get inspired by words of wisdom from gaming pros and mentors.
5:00 PM – 6:30 PM: Squad Up & Ideate
○ Got a killer idea? Pitch it. Don’t have one? Join a squad and brainstorm. The goal? Make magic happen.
6:30 PM – 7:30 PM: Set Up Your Base
○ Fire up your laptops, organize your tools, and get comfy. Pro tip: snacks and coffee = OP.
7:30 PM Onwards: Let the Games Begin!
○ This is where the grind starts. Code, design, write, and build. It’s game dev time, baby!
Day 2: Friday, January 24, 2025
All Day: Create, Collaborate, Dominate
○ It’s full-throttle game creation mode. Build, test, tweak, and grind like a boss.
○ Our mentors (aka game dev legends) are here to help if you hit a wall.
Pro Tip:
Stay hydrated, stretch, and don’t forget to vibe with your teammates. The energy is contagious!
Day 3: Saturday, January 25, 2025
8:00 AM – 6:00 PM: Final Push – Go Big or Go Home
○ It’s crunch time. Perfect your game, fix those pesky bugs, and make it shine.
6:00 PM – 7:30 PM: Showtime: Game Showcase
○ The spotlight’s on you. Show off your creation to the crowd and bask in the glory.
7:30 PM – 8:30 PM: Playtest & Network Party
○ Play everyone’s games, share feedback, and vibe with some of the coolest people in the industry.
8:30 PM – 9:00 PM: Closing Celebration
○ Time to wrap it up with certificates, team photos, and high-fives all around.
9:00 PM Onwards: Chill & Free Play
○ Unwind, play some games, and say goodbye (but not for long) to your new gaming fam.
